Location: Metro, MN | Looking for recommendations on sucker/quickstrike rigs. Don't typically drag suckers but would like to give it a go this fall.
Any brands/models you prefer in terms of quality hooksets and safety for the fish? |

Location: Minnetonka MN | I 2nd the Shumway. A little tricky to figure out how to use the first couple times, but they work well once you have it down. |

Location: South East Wisconsin | I got hooked up with Nelson's rigs this fall. One of the best rigs I have ever used, simple and very effective. Catch ratio is unbelievable awesome design, quality components! Brad is a great guy to deal with highly recommend. Matter of fact I just ordered more today! |

| All of the abover mentioned commerically made rigs work well but I would encourage you to look at upgrading the size of hooks to 5/0 or 7/0 if you are using suckers over 14 inches long. That can be easily done with tiable wire and a torch to heat up a hook to bend it. I have not looked at rigs in the last 3-4 years as I started making my own so perhaps they have upped the hook size (if so someone chime in)... |
