| Let's see, Sponge lost 2 fish.
Mikie lost 2 MORE fish.
I have invited both these guys to fish with me to no avail, but not so sure now that it isn't the Musky God's way of protecting me and my boat from their curse.
Did you guys both remember to spin around three times counter clockwise, spit on a dog, and throw a chicken foot over your left shoulder before you started fishing at the Cave? (And by the way Sponge, you do not throw the chicken foot over your shoulder while it is still attached to the chicken as I have heard you did one time in the past!)
Invitation still stands, but if you guys DO ever fish with me I am afraid I must insist on charms and warders so that my boat, equipment, and I remain blessed, and protected.
How anybody could visit the Cave and come away fishless with that hot bite going on is beyond my ken(oops, did somebody say the aging Steve Worrall??, that's different, he has to deal with slowing reaction times, arthritis, boat hemmorrhoids, and failing eyesight, he DOES have an excuse).;)
p.s. some of the Muskie boys down here were talking about sacrificing a virgin to the Muskie Gods so that we might have better water conditions and a warmer winter next year, and Mikie, your name was mentioned as someone they needed at the ceremony, hmmmm.....not sure what they meant though...

| LOl dude! Once I met some new peeps, I decided that since they had traveled so far, it was only fair to allow them to catch some fish, so I pulled me bait away from numerous 'skis in hopes that others might catch them! It seemed the tactic worked, as many fish were caught by others; now they will come back in greater numbers next year...at which time the peeps will then be on their own, as me generosity will be much less the next time!;) | |

Location: Athens, Ohio | OK, you got me. Guess my hooks were too sharp and I wan't holding my mouth right. How did you and Doug fare?
We do need to break this curse. Give me a couple weeks to let my new-found casting muscles rest and I'll take you up on yer offer. First one with a muskie wins. m

| Mikie, we pounded and moved throughout the day, and eventually pounded some of the right areas at the right times. Doug hooked up with three, and boated two, and I boated two. Doug went big and stayed big. I started big, but eventually broke down and trapped the last 3 hours or so, and my fish came on the traps, though I do not love em. I feel a little ashamed to throw them, LOL, but that won't keep me from counting those fish. If I would have done anything different I would have put more pressure on secondary spots rather than "top 25" spots.
Of course I was using a special trap, not the standard rattle traps most were using. I attribute all my success to the secret bait, happily purchased out of the bargain bin at Walmart.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I tossed a trap the entire time I was out there, which was admittedly limited. I 'natural' fished, which meant we got out about the crack of noon. Crash and Justin put me into the fish well, but I seemed unable to keep that little bitty bait stuck in their face long enough. Sorry I missed you Friday, Crash hit, played, and lost a fish just as we were leaving, a good one. You know what happens then to leaving...
