What's the deal with printing out a Michigan fishing license and the fact that you can't use the printed copy from online as a valid license? Heading up to LSC in the morning, are we better off buying a license in person?

Thanks

Not true
Page 1 of the PDF is the receipt and it does say "this is a receipt and cannot be used as a license" but page 2 of the PDF is your license and is what you carry on you while fishing

I recently was stopped while fishing and accidentally left my license at home. The DNR stopped me to "check me out" and I told them immediately I left my license at home. They took my drivers license, made a quick call to verify that I wasn't lying and said "have a nice day". Maybe every officer is different but these guys didn't have an issue at all with my license not being on me. I've even had an issue one year where I couldn't print out my Canadian license and was fishing the next day. I took a pic of it on my iPhone and of course was stopped that day by the MNR. I showed them the pic and was free to continue fishing. I'm not recommending any of this....just past experiences with not having the actual license on me and signed.
