| I just built myself a couple single bladed bucktails with a #10 Colorado blade on them and Im having an issue with them. When I reel them in the blades spin, but they don't seem to spin properly. I thought maybe it was just cause it was a single vs. a double thing but when I threw some of my other single bladed baits there was no issue. The issue is, im sure most of you guys who've thrown double 10's have experienced that once in a while you'll get a cast where the blades don't spin properly and the flashaboo, marabou what ever is on the tail doesn't flare. Well that's my issue with these singles. The bait rolls when it comes in and my leader is jumping all around and not coming in, in a straight line. I guess to simplify it, its not coming in smooth and my tail isn't really flaring. I thought maybe it was a weight issue but I played around with that to no change. I thought maybe It was a clevis issue, I guess it still could be because when I played with it was inconclusive. So if anyone has any advice or anything I should try any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!! | |

Location: Eastern Ontario | Try bending the line tie loop and about 3/8 of an inch of the shaft at a 30 to 45 degree angle to the shaft. Will give more flare and prevent roll and line twist. Make sure the legs of the clevise are at a 90 degree angle to the shaft.
