| I am looking to try a little bucktail making this winter, specifically some Marabou bucktails. I have found most of the components needed, but have not found a good source for Marabou feathers, hackle, or the bodies needed to attach the feathers to.
Any suggestions? |

Location: Chisholm, MN | I got my marabou from Moore's Lures. Just get some throttle cable to tie it to. |

Location: Madtown, WI | ebay is an awesome resource, a lot of people selling marabou specifically for fly tying cheaper than anywhere else. Tie them to "throttle cable coil", you should be able to buy several feet in a lawn mower throttle kit at a fleet farm/hardware store for $10 or so. I haven't been able to find that online but it will be significantly more expensive if you buy inch by inch from lure parts stores. Feel free to PM me if you want. |

Location: Minnesota | Acme Tools sells throttle cable by the foot in their parts department.... cheap.
I would order everything else from Moore's.

| marabou can be found at joann fabrics, michaels type stores for less than tackle stores. |

Location: Almond, WI | I get my coils from Lure Parts Online. They have hackle and marabou but I have not ordered that from them. I do order all my other components from them. Usually about 2-3 day turn around time, and easy return/exchange policy, I've been very happy with them. |

| Thorne Brothers has everything you need.
Marabou and hackle are in the fly shop section. |

Location: Madtown, WI | I wouldn't trust the marabou at joanne's to be colorfast, but I'm sure it would work fine. |
