| I was just wondering what length rods you guys use for sucker fishing. I have always used 7'6" or larger but I came across a 6'3" st croix premier extra heavy that looks to me like it could do the job what do you all think? |

| 8.5 to 9 footers. I like to get the suckers away from the boat. Plus the length of the rods can help with the "spread" when running 6 sucker lines. |

Location: Smith Creek | I have a 5'6" Flambeau glass rod that still catches fish with suckers.
Not crazy about the PM63XHF for sucker fishing, though. |

Location: oswego, il | You don't need a long rod unless you want the sucker away from the boat. A down rod in shallow water you would want a long rod. I use.my 7' catfish rods most of the time, they work fine. As I said, skinny water I will use my 9'3" Okuma. |
