| My buddy had one in the boat and was using it. He added a split shot in front of the bait. He got more action. |

Location: Germantown, WI | I threw one around for a few minutes also and concur with the added weight. It seems like you either have to twitch the bait or swim it very fast to get the right action. It doesn't come in too well on a slow, straight pull (for me anyway). |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | I was able to use them today and alot of action stock, I added a 1/2 oz bass weight on the leader, it gave it a total different action. I like them so much I think i'll order more for my Canada trips in Sept.
There is 3 or 4 ball weights in the lure body, LD says U can add or remore for different action. |

Location: Williamstown, WV | I paid 20 for a bulldawg that a little musky bit the tail off. If whiggley works, I'd gladly pay 10 bucks to catch a nice musky. Btw the whiggley has great action, IMHO well worth 20 bucks for 2. |

Haaahaha, love that!
You are exactly right |

| I caught two fish on one last week while on vacaion. They both followed blades and ate the Wiggley...The bait held up like a champ but what did the body in was a hammer handle pike hitting it after fish 2... I agree that $10.00/fish is cheap money... Its no different than a Kickin Chicken' which is a one or two fish bait but catches fish... |

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA | Well, since I'm the target of the redicule I'll give you my answer. Of course muskie fishing costs more than $10 a fish or trip. But there is nothing wrong in attempting to keep costs down. For the record I use suckers but refuse to buy the $10+ suckers too. And I do use dawgs but seem to be able to get more than just 1-2 fish per bait. They are repairable in most situations. What I do not do is get wrapped up in the hype of needing the new magical lure especially when it appears IMHO to be expensive for the application and disposable after a short duration. I like others have hundreds of baits already, with many sitting in storage not being used. Maybe it's my age but I'm more selective now in my purchases. Just because some guy on an internet site says "bait x" is the killer bait to use now doesn't make me run out and purchase more baits that will sit in my box. This bait (could be wrong) appears to be a specialty bait that would be used in limited situations for me. A throw back bait purhaps? Used for sluggish follows? Can't see using it while running and gunning? Would it replace my trusted gliders? Don't think so. I have great respect for Larry Dalberg and his inventions. And I have seen him catch fish in fresh and salt water using this bait. I'm just not sold that it fits my applications better than other tools in my tool box. |

I got 3 fish on the same Mr Whiggley, they are made to slide down when hooked to save the bait from being trashed.

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA | Glad to hear about your success and the durability of the bait.
Are you using it as a follow up lure? A search lure? What action do you give it? Do you add weight as mentioned previously? Do you see a difference in clear or dirty water conditions? Do you use it for shallow conditions or suspended fish? How are you rigging it? |

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA | Hmmmm. You seemed very knowledgable and I was hoping to learn from your experience. Can always learn and be convinced that it's the real deal. You were having me convinced on multiply use of the bait. Why not share more of your technique. Thought that was what this sire was for? Just one ??? For ya. When is the best time to use it? |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | I use the bait alot of different ways, mostly as a search bait, it out fished the other 2 guys in the boat and they were using a jerk and a glider bait. U can work it very fast or slow. U can add weight but I use my with now. The bait can be worked fast for searching, slow for a throw back bait, jerk it or let it slow sink, change it up by adding weight.
Just buy some and see for yourself, maybe U will find a different way to use them. |

it comes with a wirer leader, but I made some out of 180 F/C a little longer then the stock ones. If U make your own then U can add a sliding weight to it if U want to. When the bait gets torn up just use a small torch to mend, just like a dawg.
Hope that helps, Good Luck.
I think they are a little pricie for now but I'm sure U will find them on the web in 6mths for alot less. |

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA | Great info.
I stayed with the thread because of my great respect for Larry Dalberg. Have had success with other inventions of his. Pricey (ouch) but usually deliver as promised. I love watching him work in his shop. You have convinced me. I will purchase because of this thread. I see they are out of stock at River2Sea. Must becoming very popular. See you can teach an old dog new tricks. Looks like he uses flourocarbon carbon at times also.
Good video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?autoplay=1&v=pgx-0ixm02E
Two more questions and I'll leave you alone. Any favorite color? Do you hook the treble into bait or leave it free?
Thanks again. |

I like Redhorse, White which is Slv and the Firetiger. Yes I hook the treble in the bait. |

If you reel it slow it just rolls.
Thanks |

| Seems that if you use it stock, you have to burn it. Stop and it darts out. Burn again. Had a nice leech lake fish scare me half to death as I pulled it out of the water. Almost jumped in the boat! |

Yeah, unless you reel it in very fast it doesn't do nothing. |

| The ones I have, if you just reel them slow and steady--will do nothing... But if you start giving short bursts of speed with your reel, and mix in some pauses and quick twitches, it really comes alive. I think you have to think of the bait as more of a jerk bait instead of a swimbait or crank. You have to let it sink a little bit also, to keep it off the surface at the beginning of retrieve. Mix in those short burst of speed with some death pauses and quick snaps and twitches and I think you will be golden. Awesome bait! Not for the faint of heart though... you gotta make it work for you. |
