Location: Naperville, IL | I didn't see an existing thread on this so I thought I would see who has hands on experience with both. I have had the Toro 60 HS and winch, Tranx HG, Lexa 300 and 400, but I have not had my hands on the NACL. What do you like/dislike about it compared to a Toro? |

Location: Chippewa Falls, WI | the nacl stands for salt edition. I believe the only difference is the color (which I think looks awesome) and the handles that come with them. I have a Winch, two nacl HS (50 &60) along with a tranx, cardiff and 6500c3 as back ups. I love the NACL's and have the 60 on my 9' for blades and the 50 is on my 7'6" for glides and jerks. I use those two setups for pretty much everything and only use my tranx on xxh 9' for rubber. The power handle on the 60 is really comfortable and makes bringing in blades easy. I can't imagine that you'd see much benefit going from a toro HS to a NACL HS....just my opinion though. |

| I have both and throw large swimbaits on them both. Not sure it is worth paying for the salt protection if you can still find a discontinued Toro. |

| Its the same reel with more salt protection in the bearings etc. Looks way cooler and comes with a paddle and power handle. Other than that if your talking the same ratio there is no difference. |

He has every right to ask the question. It is possible that someone may have a new answer. |

Location: Western U.P. | I own both Revo Toro's and NaCl's. Like them both quite a bit, and to me, each has their own "feel" to them. The NaCl's probably have the edge with internal materials used, but both are good reels. Would recommend either one of them, and unless you are partial to one color scheme over the other, get whichever you can. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Don't worry too much about Muskie Nut. He tends to be crabby about things. Don't bring up left/right handed reels or snaps either.
It isn't always to find just what you are looking for by searching. I asked the same question a while back. Check out the link for the answers I received. I concluded that the NACL pretty much just has better handles. For me, I feel like a good handle goes a long ways, so it was worth it to me to get the new model. I bought a 5.4 NACL and it's the best reel I've ever owned. Smooth, casts great, handles 10's well, and a pleasure to fish with. So far have just used the standard double paddle handle and I tend to use power handles on my reels. I think 10's would be like butter with the power handle.
With that said, I'm sure the old style reels are great too if you find one for the right price.

Location: Planet Meltdown | Love my NaCi. If you put the power handle on it, just make sure the handle is in the down position when you cast or you might get that dreadful coffee grinder cast. I ended up switching back to the double paddle handle and had no more issues. |

Location: Naperville, IL | Well its here, spooling it up about three times it just stopped reeling and had to put serious power into turning the handle. Looks like its going back, not a good start. |

Tighten the drag? One of mine came full loose and did that out of the box. Cranked the star and its been threw about 10k casts and is good to go. |

| Oh that aint right. The 3 I have work great. Also just got off a guides boat and that is what he was using. No problems or back lashes with any once you get them dialed in. Well I kinda take that back the 60 5.4 seems a little tough to press down the thumb bar unless your dead center. Prob needs a good cleaning. |
