Thorne Bros S-Series 6'3" jerkbait rod and an Abu Garcia 6500. $120. The is in excellent shape and the reel is in good shape. I also added a 7000 series drag and a (longer) Diawa handle to the reel.

| I'm curious how you added a 7000's drag as the drag washers from a 7000 are larger than the main gear on the 6500? |

Location: White Bear lake, MN | I didn't change the drag washers just the star drag. This is one of those things that is easy to show, but hard to describe. I changed the part of the reel that you physically touch to tighten or loosen the drag. I usually keep my drag pretty tight for hooksets. I added the 7000 star drag (which is larger than the 6500) so I can quickly and easily loosen the drag if I hook into a big fish. Hope that makes sense. This reel by the way is my back up. It is has seen some use, but is very good working order. |

| Now I understand. I have put the larger star wheels on some of mine also, technically they are not from the 7000 though, they are from the 6500ST (Striper). I find them much nicer than the standard star wheel. |

| What is the value of the Thorme Bros Rod and in what shape is it?

The Thorne Bros rod is in excellent shape. The cork handle darkened a little form getting wet, otherwise Thorne Bros could probably put it back on the rack. I bought it 2 years ago for $130. I think they go for abou the same now. The price is negotiable. Let me know if your interested.
