Pros and Cons of different planer boards. Been looking at the Church 44's. Anyone have experience with them? I heard that they may not work with braid. Anyone use braid with their planers? Any special way of rigging a planer when using braid?

I have Churches. With the Lock Jaw snap add-on they work fine for braid. If it a really hard pulling bait you can wrap the braid around the nut on the release snap for better traction. Only bad thing about the Church's is its stupid they don't come with the Lock Jaw snap standard...

I use churches and just turn the clip around so the work like there vice clip. They hold fine this way and cost you no extra money.

The stock clips work fine with smaller plugs and braid. Yes the clips will work for alittle with bigger baits and braid but once they start slipping it wears the material off the clips and don't hold much. 44 board with or-18 clips awesome. Buddy got the lock jaw clip and we both like the or18 better.

Looks like the TX 44 Churches are the way to go. I also troll for Stripers in the Spring and pull dipsy divers and umbrella rigs. I'm told the 44's can handle them.

Thanks all.
