Location: Cleveland, Wisconsin | Hi Everyone,
This post is sort of a public service notice from Musky Innovations. We have found out today that we have a problem on some of the heads on the Shallow Invaders. This problem affects the custom color Shallow Invaders from the shows and a few of the stock colors that have been painted since January 2003. You will notice the problem once you use the lure - the paint will peel off the head only after one or two hours of use. This is not the normal wear and tear of the hooks or a fish but will happen almost right away and in a peeling fashion. We ask that you contact us by phone or e-mail only after you have the peeling during use because it is not on every head. We think we have caught most of the stock colors in the shop so not too many of them have gone out in the feild.
Please let us know and we will replace the lure for free and please do not hesitate to keep using the Shallow Invader if you like the lure. This is something that can happen from time to time and does not get noticed until the lures are used.
We regret any inconvenience this has caused you and really appreciate your business in the past and future.
Thanks for your understanding & please pass the word on.
Brad Ruh

Location: Kalamazoo, MI | This is only on the lures post 2003? I have a walleye colored Shallow Invader that I picked up last September that after 2 weeks of use the 'clear coat' began flaking off. The paint itself is still intact, just slightly faded and blotchy looking due to missing the clear coat. Also, this same lure initially floated, a week later suspended, and a week later sank. Not sure if it was just full of water or what, I havent had a chance to try it out this year and see if it floats again. |

Location: Black Creek, WI | Brad,
Thanks for the update. I bought an absolutely delicious looking custom color Shallow Invader at the shows and will be heart broken if the paint peels off. Glad to know we can get a replacement should we fall victim to the mishap.
If its any consolation... the paint on my Walleye Shallow Invader has held up extraordinarily well... despite repeated abuse from razor sharp teeth. So hopefully people will understand and respect this minor incident.

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I think this is great customer suport offered by Brad.
I don't think very many other companies would put out a public notice like this. Most would just deal with the complaints as they are contacted.
Keep up the great work Brad!
It is stuf like this that will keep Musky Innovations around for a very long time.
