looking to see if anyone can give me an idea where to look to repair my trim. its a 1992 mercury 75 tiller with a single ram,2 wire trim system. had finally found some time to get the boat out and trim didnt work. i am unable to raise motor up, seems to go down but only from height of where transom saver is. everything is working electrically. motor runs in both directions. believe the issue is somewhere in the hydraulics. i can raise motor by hand by just pulling up on it, without having to open manual release valve. once i have it raised if i were to let it go would drop with no resistance. any ideas where to look would be greatly appreciated. should mention also that entire trim unit was rebuilt in spring of 2008.

Have part of it apart and checking as i go. One thing that caught my eye is an oring on manual release valve. Is stepped with 3 different orings. The smallest one is very hard and not pliable. Other 2 are soft and pliable. Not sure if this could be the cause or not.
