Had to cut hooks on an older bait w/o split rings.

Insights on cotter pin removal vs. simply adding split rings?

Thanks,

Steve

Ive used split rings and they work fine, a couple of mine even seem a little louder than before. I think it allows the hook to move more freely or it could just be me.

Cincinnati --- add the split rings ,,, I install the Mustad 3/0 round-bend (wide gap) short-shank hooks ,,,, good hook ups and fewer tangled hooks --
