My wife wants to visit her brother in the Clearwater, Florida area July 18 - 21. She asked me what do I want to do. Fishing of course! I' m wondering if anybody is down there that would be willing to take me and my brother-in-law out fishing. Would be willing to repay by taking them out musky fishing, I live about 45 min from the Hayward area in Wisconsin.

I just got back from Florida. If you can't find someone to take you out, there are a number of options in that area. For deep sea fishing, there are party both charters and party boats that offer half and full day trips. For inshore fishing, there are guides but also beaches and piers that can give you a chance at Tarpon, Kingfish, Snook and Redfish. The Skyway Pier is located by the Skyway bridge over Tampa Bay, (the water), and they can provide you with everything - bait, rods and you don't need a fishing license on the pier.
I actually bring my own surf rods and tackle when I go to the ocean. I fish with Okuma 65 class reels and telescopic fishing rods. I use 12 - 16 lb Stren Magathin for line and 40 -80 lb mono leader material. (Saltwater fish hit extremely hard and mono has a shock absorber.) My best lures have been 3 and 4 inch Storm swimbaits. The baitfish do run larger in Florida so 5 inch or even 6 inch swimbaits could work for Tarpon and Kingfish too.
