Thanks for looking and considering helping out. My brother, a friend and I are headed up on Wednesday. Haven't been there for a long time but excited to get back. Will be staying at HooDoo Campground in Pike Bay. Any recent reports, suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Please PM me. Thanks again.

I'm on the west end at Spring Bay the rest of the week. The water is higher than I've seen it in the past and it's rained the past 2 days with several small fronts. The open water trolling bite is still active in Head of the Lakes. Casting bite slow, most fish moving on smaller baits. Got a small muskie this am burning a #5Mepps over the weeds. Talked with a guy who has been up the last 10 days on the east end, onlyv saw 4 fish and was on the West for a change. So, overall seems slow, skeeters are thick at sundown. Walleye are eating lindy rigged crawlers and leaches in the evening.

Very interested to hear how you did. I'm heading up to Hoodoo Point on the 24th of July.

Fished the east side ...weeds, shallow rock structure, mid depth rock structure, points, islands, extensions, bays...and saw one ski (caught a bunch of hammerhead brothers as a poor consolation)! The only thing that seems to b going right now is open water trolling at head of the lakes bay and other areas on the west side like in the open deeper water just east of Muskeg (sp?) Bay. Spoke to a number of Muskie guys and the ones who we're picking up one or two here and there had all been trolling and running lures under 8' deep in 30 - 40 feet of water. Water temps were 69 - 70. The lake just had a humongous may flue hatch too (and a lot of Mosquitos at dusk). If you are heading up in a little bit the hatch will have cleared the system and the water temps will kick up and the fishing will be much improved. Pm me when you get back and let me know how you did. Good luck to you.
