My opti is beeping when put into reverse (especially if I shift into reverse slowly) and then sometimes the beeping will persist when in low idle. The engine runs very well and doesn't run rough or anything. I think this is purely electrical related. Just had the impeller replaced to try to solve the problem but it didn't help.

Has anyone experienced this and, if so, could you please offer some advise? Thanks guys!

I might have it backwards but I'm pretty sure steady tone is low oil and a beep means low water pick up or the engine is too hot.i know you said it has a new impeller but Is it peeing fine?

Yes it is beeping, which is associated with low water pickup or overheating, but neither of those seem to be an issue. Yep- it pees just fine- solid, steady stream.

read some stuff about the alarm module malfunction.that would make some sence only happening under those conditions only.

Reading a lot about throttle sensor malfunctions. Is this something that could be causing this problem?

I had an issue with my '99 150 optimax giving me a single beep and check engine light at slow idle, especially when idling after coming off plane. My issue turned out to be the throttle position indicators. I had both of those replaced and the issue went away.

First thing: check to make sure you have oil. If you dont, add oil, bleed low pressure oil reservoir and be very careful when you put that screw back in.

If you do have oil in the boat and the beeping is still going, probably a fuel or water pump issue. Dont mess around, bring it in for service.

Had the same problem on my 200 Opti. Ended up being a clogged coolant line. Peed fine. Bring it in and have it checked.
