Location: Alsip, IL | I bought a new boat and mounted a humminbird 859ci by myself and everything works awesome but after about 7.5 mph I loose my depth reading so I'm flying blind. I mounted my transducer in the same place as the previous owner, I'm just curious if there could be a setting or something I need to adjust or do I need to remount the transducer? The boat is a stratos 176xt. |

Location: davis,IL | You must be 15" from the prop or it will cause noise in the transducer. Also make sure its running in "clean" water. Then playi with it up and down a little, probably down. My birds were a little touchy too, but once I found the spot they read good to full speed (40 mph). |

Location: Alsip, IL | Thanks guys R code sent me some pics and I think I've got to tilt forward and raise it on the transom just a tad. Can't wait I'm gonna fiddle with it this weekend. I've got an elite 7 hdi coming for the bow so I'm gonna spend a day and get both all functioning to my liking I let you know if I'm still struggling. Can't wait, I know I haven't had it long but I really loved this whole fiberglass thing last week. |

Location: Alsip, IL | Played with it a little this evening and still nothing. I just tilted it forward and tried, nothing. Went another click still nothing. I think I need to remove the bracket and drill new holes which I was really hoping not to do. |

Location: SE WISCONSIN | Get a transducer board and mount that to your boat with 2 Screws and a good marine sealant like 3m 5200 and mount your transducer to that so you don't have to keep putting holes in your boat. |

| had mine on the outside and had same problem, then went to using the one that was epoxied in the hull, no problems now even at full speeds (50+) not hard to do but I guess it only works on glass |
