Location: Manitowish Waters WI | I was up on Clay all last week, which is the lake just downstream west of 105. Fishing was exceptional. Water 3-4 feet high and current areas were extremely strong compared to normal years. Debris in the water was hazardous, trees are floating which haven't saw water in 15 years. We found walleyes in weeds and mid depth rocks 8-20 feet deep. The big girls were schooled up starting to move into summer patterns. No perch fishing but we did run into a few nice ones in the weeds. Hope that helps pm me if you want some more info. |

| Anyone have any musky luck on the Goon yet? I've been out only twice. Nothing to speak of yet for me. Found some cabbage starting to come up. Not used to the murky water, follows are going to be hard to see. |

| you just had a cold front go thru so fish main lake areas. Fish main points and nearby banks that have some rubble on them.Places where u might pick up some walleye. The murky water keeps em shallow |

Isn't it always that murky? |

| Yes, it is always murky. I was just saying I don't fish that lake too often. That's why I'm not used to the murky water. I've spent more time on other lakes in the area. (Eagle etc) |

| Same here. We fished there last year, and it was quite a change from what we are used to (Eagle, etc.). beaglerr gave some good tips and was there that week too. Great guy, and very helpful.
Terry told us the fish were right up on the bank. We didn't really use this tactic, but most all we caught were in shallower water with targeted casts at structure. Bright, hot days are supposedly the best.... and if the sun is right you might see a follow or two but most struck during the retrieve or when the lure hit the water. Big pike in the weeds, too. Seemed the farther south we went, the clearer (relatively speaking) the water got. Most action came on dark crank baits or black/blaze orange blades, for us.
Terry also said don't bother fishing before 10:00, or if the winds are out of the North. Those days, we went to Butler Bay. Clearer water and I did see a musky in there (though nobody believed me!).
Most in camp were regulars, and love the water. But, we are heading back to clearer water this year. |

Location: The desert | Water clarity on the Goon was better than I've ever seen it, and our Camp host said it was the clearest he's seen in many many years.
We found plenty of fish, and a few big ones as well. We just couldn't get hooks into them. Lost 4 or 5, with 3 of them being nice fish. One was likely 48+.
Didn't perch fish and hardly walleye fished. Caught a 26.5 inch walleye on the third cast of the trip on a big spinner bait, on the 8.
The fish were getting active the night before we left and I'm guessing with storms moving through they probably went nuts during the drive home. |

3, boated. 2 came in the first 2 hours of the trip.
Had shots at 5 others, with 7-8 more active fish. |

| I was out over the weekend on the goon. I spent most of my time on the main lake fishing weeds and sand banks. I saw 9 come up. Unfortunately didn't boat any. They seemed pretty hot.
Whats your favourite bait for the goon? |

| Carl, where are you staying? We've been moving and catching more fish on the east end. The more clear water. Water temps in low 70s. Lots of pike the last few days and if you want walleye, the are going good. Mayfly hatch was last week. |
