| Had pretty good hook up ratio with these baits, but i have not had a fish T-bone the bait yet. My question is do people cut off that top hook just like on a bulldawg for better hook up ratio when a fish may T-bone the bait?
Just wondering what people's experiences are who have caught a lot of fish on them |

| I do not have that much experience, but FWIW I fished Lake St Clair last week with two captains who both used the regular shadzilla on the boats with no modifications and praised the bait highly. I caught a 41" on the Shadzilla and the other boat landed five fish including a 52" on the same exact bait. The Shadzillas were beat up pretty good but the captain repaired them with heat and a butterknife right on the water. I was impressed. I plan to buy a couple. I wont be removing the top hooks. |

Location: Madison, WI | There is nothing to foul up with the top hook so why remove it? ok maybe the line or leader could foul up but ive never had that happen. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | This is one bait that I DO NOT cut the top hook off. Two years ago I caught two on the top hook alone. LOVE these baits, but leave the top hook on |

| What's the difference between this and removing the hook from a dawg? Is it based off of the way they are worked? Just don't understand why you would want to remove the hook from one and not the other? |

Location: midwest | A lot less rubber on a shadzilla/different profile... The hook on the shadzilla also has a wide enough gap to be effective. |

Location: Eastern Ontario | I have a friend who successfully fishes it with only the top hook. Origionaly it came with only the top hook and only the rear belly hook that's how I use it. |
