Location: IL | Hi all!
After an UP HILL battle we are finally ready to introduce the Rip&Glide. The mold is made and parts are scheduled..
For those who don’t know...this is a dual purpose bait that has 2 different line ties that offers 2 TOTALLY different actions in 1 bait. The top line tie (the RIPPER) is best and most simply described as a vibrating Suick, if you can imagine that. The bottom line tie presents a glide bait action that has consistent belly role/FLASH. Its tight erratic glide can be worked on the TOP or subsurface.
We may or may not offer a custom weighted version of which will have only the TOP (ripping) eye. This will be called the "RIPPER".
The construction will be SOLID ABS plastic and insert molded hook hangers/line ties.. This will make it one of the most durable baits on the market.
ERC will have a demo video for your review on the website very soon.
Good luck huntin this year!!!
Take care

ps am going to attempt to attach a picture???

| Hey Matt, good to hear that the R and G is finally going to hit the shelves.
This is a unique lure that will move fish when a lot of other lures fail. Very few follows on this lure, they seem to just eat it! God bless.

| LOL!!! No probs dude, I traded Jason a Hughes River last year for one at a "later date". When you guys cast that bait past us, I couldn't believe the action; I thought Krappie was going to jump outta the boat and grab it! I know we talked about it the rest of the afternoon off and on. I'll send me address...I'd "endure" last year all over again if I thought you 2 could make it back down.:O Once this bait gets out, my guess is it will keep you busy for a good while... |

| It’s the most finesseable bait I’ve ever fished with. It’s a joy to “work it”. |
|
|
|
| Others write "the first time, ever I saw this bait"...and "who says there's no such thing as love at first sight?" I saw the bait worked up close, and you can ask Krappie or Cisco Kid as to the versatility and potential for this lure... |

|
| YES! Krappie, Cisco and I received a brief history and peep show on the water, but were not allowed to touch or photograph the bait; Krappie kept asking questions, and for a moment thought he might take a dip in hopes of at least touching the fish vittle. No doubt one will also be able to use it successfully for other species as well... |

I will not be joining Dick up at the show up in Canada. However PRO TACKLE will be carrying all our baits there.

All I have to say is OOOOHHH-BOY!!!
I am pretty sure I had my biggest fish of the season hit a RnG last year. I didn't get it in the boat, but it was the first time I put serious time in with the Lure. THAT WAS THE SECOND WEEK OF THE SEASON.
This bait will catch fish, for those who put the time in with it.

You wrote that you may come out with a weighted version called the "Ripper".
Are you aware of the fact that H2O Tackle is already producing a jerkbait called the "Ripper"? There is a page on my basement baits which shows them. |

Location: IL | Hi Jo,
The "Ripper" is just a slang term that we use in our inner circle here at ERC to describe the top line tie action of the Rip & Glide... We may come out with a custom weighted version that doesnt have the bottom line tie and that is weighted specifically for the "ripping" action.. It is going to be tough not to call it the ripper we have been doing it for over a year...hmmmm.....Maybe we can call it the :
Rip & Rise
R.I.P.
Zipper
VIBRATOR!
the thing is still on the drawing board....we will see..names are the easy part...... believe me.

| I say ERC needs to educate the masses, and perhaps give the new bait a Latin name, and add a jingle such as "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, tie one on the end of your stick!" Do whatever you want...:O |

| How about naming it the "RIP LURE". I can hear it now.
"Rip-itty do da, Rip-ity aye. My, oh my, what a Rip Lure day. Plenty of Muskies, Tigers, and spots......." "Big fish, Pete! Got 'im on the Rippo, the Ripster, Rippy, Rip-Rip Ripperooni! Oh, man, I just fell, and got Rip Lure hook in the a$$!" |

What's the story with the "Rip and Glide"? I take it this was the original Hellhound, before they moved the line tie to the center? Interested in what kind of action it got with that top eye. (Edit: Apparently that's the "Ripper" line tie). Very interesting.
Anyone care to elaborate?

| This is what happens when bait designs don't pan out. The Musky Mania "dying fish" was supposed to be a glider originally. Anyone remember that? The hellhound actually turned out to be a decent result of the rip & glide effort. |

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Martin as stated earlier the "ripper" line tie position was vibrating dive and rise lure similar to a TR Twitcher. Only problem with it was if you tried to overwork it you would hang it up on the leader. That was easily overcome by just doing nice easy pulls.
The bottom line tie position made for a WTD topwater bait, but this one with flat sides which added a unique sound. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Interesting flashback. I had a couple of the prototypes, and was asked to fish them on my rivers. While I caught a few muskies on them with the top line tie, when hit by significant current, the lure would roll up and hang up on the next pull. The bottom tie was realized to be too low, and after the difference was split and a bit of weight added, the hellhound was created. I enjoyed working with the lure, and it was fun seeing the end result.

| Wow flashback is right. That was weird seeing that name again. The R&G was first bait we made at ERC before the TripleD. The biggest reason the Rip-n-glide was scrapped was no consistency in production. The injection pressures were blowing the weights out of location. The idea was scrapped and fins were added and the Hellhound was born. I still have a hand full of the originals that work awesome though.
