I will be heading to Red Wing lodge out of Morson with the crew in July for a week and am thinking about going up (to the lake) by myself about 3 or 4 days before everybody else. Has anybody here done a solo trip up there? I plan on being on the water all day so I am looking for somewhat economical lodging that is not too far from Red Wing lodge. Within 15 miles would be good. I also would like to try to fly in to Kish for a day so if anybody knows of single lodging there or any experiences I would be grateful. Thanks

I have done a few solo trips to Sabaskong Bay Lodge. Good people. $75 a night.
Only 6 or 8 miles East from Morson. No need to travel far, I've Gotten a few biggies within sight of lodge.

What week are you looking at? I'm going to Kish July 19-26.

Can you camp (tent it) right at Red Wing? I know there is a shower/bath house, I just don't remember if Mike and Anne have a few spots for tents or not.
