| On water by hardscrabble point. Buddy caught a fish and I set my rod down to net it. Go to grab my rod and it's gone. |

| If anyone has this combo, could they tell me if it floats when it has a 10" phantom or similar weighted bait attached to it? |

| No idea if a Phantom floats. If it does, you can get it with a rope, anchor and some weights. I lost one a few years ago that had a floating Rapala on it. Same deal, set the rod down, and it went over in the commotion. I went out with my scuba gear to get it, but water clarity was so horrible I couldn't find it. Someone pulled my float that I set to come back to. So I took a 100' rope, set an anchor on the end. Then I stretched it out in a line, put weight on the other end. Did circles till I snagged it. Actually got lucky and snagged it on the second pass. That was in 18' of water, so it is possible. If I had been using a bucktail, I doubt I would have gotten it back. |

Location: West Metro, MN | Tonka is clear enough that you might be able to find it by diving for it. Maybe a local scuba class needs something to dive for for a test or something? |

| Well if someone knows a diver let me know. Too expensive of gear to just let go...

| Yes i did. Threw a bull dawg around for an hour with no luck. Probably headed there after work. About 17' |

Location: MN | I would keep working it with a bulldog. If you know someone with an underwater camera that could be helpful. Tonka is pretty clear so if you bring snorkel gear you may be able to see it without having to get scuba gear. Good Luck! |

Location: plant earth | That sucks. Get a scuba mask, snorkel, and a garden hose and go find it. That's some jack to loose a combo like that. |

| pick up a BIG magnet on the way out if it contacts the reel it should pick it up |
|
|
|
| Pretty sure it's mostly aluminum but maybe there is enough ferrous material to get caught. |

| Hire a diver. It might cost $150.00 if you drive him out there. |

Location: Blaine, MN | I have an Aqua Vu Micro if you want to borrow it for a week or so, I don't use it much in the summer so you could hold onto it for multiple outings or for when the weather clears up. Located in Blaine during the days, and Lino Lakes nights and weekends. |

| sorry for your loss. reminds me of someone I know who caught a walleye on Mille lacs and it had a $500 rod n reel attached to it as well. Good day for him. |

Nice offer. You may want to take him up on that |

Location: Minnesota | It's illegal to drag anchors or anything else distructive and you may risk damaging the rod. Go and Jig Bondy's or drag them they catch everything who knows you may get luck or just catch fish!!! |

Location: Moorhead, MN | If I was closer I'd go out and dive for it for you. I found a buddies on Alexander a couple years ago. Complete dumb luck. There is a forum for divers in MN. I think it is is just mn scuba or something. I'd maybe pop over there and see. I know there are a lot of folks that dive Tonka. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd be willing to give it a shot. Good luck. |

If you do what I said, you are NOT dragging the anchor. You set an anchor to pivot around. The weight is on the other end of the rope to keep the rope down where it can snag a floating lure/ line. Works great if you have a floating lure. |

| Left work at noon, anchored right on my waypoint and cast big trebles for an hour. Moved and cast right where the boat just was and my dad got it on his 3rd cast. We are back in business. Thanks to the guys at Thorne bros for ideas and all of you as well. |

Location: Minnesota. | Good for you man. Now go do as Propster suggested and get that reel totally cleaned and re-lubed.
If you are skittish about dissassembly (I would be) you know where to send it - Richard/Pikemaster- altho you may have to wait a few weeks but it's worth the investment.
Good news!
