Anyone ever used these? They seem to be a good rod for $100, I was thinking about getting the top n tail rod for lighter bucktails. Just wanted to hear some peoples opinions first.

I have one that sits in the rafters in my garage. I personally wouldn't recommend buying one. I had several of the guides crack within 3 months of owning it. Took it back to the store I bought it from & they replaced it. The next year had the same issues again with the guides cracking. Contacted manufacture & they wouldn't replaced the rod because it was replaced once. Also thought the handle was too short for my liking.

I have a top n tail that I have used for years and really like it. The only negative thing about it is that it is only 8 ft. My dad has a st croix premier that is the same length and weight and both of us prefer the black river to the premier. They are very similar the black river just loads a little better and throws stuff a mile. If they had more options in their line I would probably use their stuff exclusively.

I bought a MH 8 footer when they first came out and really liked it because I caught a lot of fish with it Only down fall was the reel seat didnt seem to fit any of my low profile abu garcias so I had to pack some electical tape into the reel seat to make it fit snug. Otherwise when you screwed it closed all the way it would still be a little loose.
The guys that make em are good guys and will take care of you if you have any problems.

If are looking for a good rod for around $100 than I would recommend that Top n Tail for small bucktails, topwaters and smaller twitch baits. If you want a great rod you are going to have to dish out some extra coin which I did last year and upgraded to the St. Croix Legend Tournaments.
