Location: champaign, illinois | A buddy and I went to Spring Lake yesterday (3/16) and the whole lake was open but quite busy with everybody getting out for probably the first time this year (raising hand to be counted as one of them...). Between clearing dead vegitation and weaving between anglers we managed to get ONE follow from a frisky 2 footer. It actually took a swipe at my partners 5" Bagley stick bait (I'm not sure if the fish was hungry or just playful).
This was the first time for either of us to fish this lake so I'm sure part of the lack of action was our inexperience with this body of water.
