Location: Land of the Musky | Toying around with the idea of carrying that X-Shrink wrap. Easy to put on your rod and it saves your cork handles. Would you buy it?
PS-Rods in picture were custom made by Tuscarora Tackle.

Location: Hayward, WI | I voted no. Looks neat and is probably nice but I'm cheap and it doesn't seem necessary. I just tend to not buy much add-on type stuff.
If I were in the market for something like that it looks cool. |

Location: Land of the Musky | It does offer protection but unlike Rod Wrap it is thin. BUT just like Rod Wrap you can easily remove it. I have one rod that has the Rod Wrap and its a Diamond VIP rod and I like it on that rod as the handle diameter was smaller so it beefed up the diameter and made it more comfortable to use. For the handles on the TI rods as well as some other brands that are going to the larger diameter handles I think the Rod Wrap adds too much. Thanks for the comments so far. James

Location: South-Central VA | X-flock is awesome stuff. It's what I use 90% of the time on my personal rods.
For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's a rubber grip material that is used mostly in the saltwater fishing world, so you know it's durable. For me, it's the most comfortable grip on the market.

I have a 9' TI custom rod Jeremy built for me that has black x-flock on it an it looks great!

Location: SE, WI. | I have been using this shrink wrap on my rods for about 2 years. These shrink wraps are awesome, and sure beats the rod wraps offered in tape form! Gives a nice cushy feel to your handles! Just about any rod builder can get this shrink rod wrap, or any rod building supply store. I would check out Thorne Bros, they may carry it. JD |
