Subject: terrova transducer question

I just bought a brand new 80lb terrova ipilot with the universal transducer. And on the bow I have a hds5 on there and I want to hook it up to the trolling motor but I know I have to choose the transducer in the menu section. Does anyone know what the transducer is called so I can hook it up to thw right setting?

I found this on another site

There are two components to a transducer. The first is its transmission frequency. This is a measure of the length of the sound wave it produces. Your transducer is transmitting at 192 kHz. The HSD does not support 192 kHz so you?re going to have a bit of an impedance mismatch to deal with. It will still work, just not as well as if you had a 200 kHz transducer hooked to the unit.

The second is the power of the sound wave it produces which is typically measured in watts RMS. We don?t know the power rating of your transducer but the chances of it being more than 600watts are nil. You don?t see transducers greater than 600W until you get into the high performance stuff. I have a 1,000 Watt fish finder on my boat and the transducer alone was over $700.

Having said that, you want to use the generic 200 kHz setting with your transducer

Don't know if that helps but it looks like you should set it to 200 kHz
