What's with all the dead and near dead crappies , sunnies that look like they are rotting while barely alive.? Is there somethin in the water on Waconia ?

Saw quite a few dead crappies and couple small bass on Forest also.

I don't know what it is, I saw a nice sized pike and a really nice bass as well. Some of the fish to be healthy while some are pretty messed up.

Yeah there were dead sunnies and crappies all over Forest on Sunday. And, was also on Johanna over the weekend - that lake was a cesspool - horrible filamentous algae bloom and thousands of dead fish you could smell them everywhere. A homeowner told me that lake had not been sprayed yet so I don't know what's killing all those fish...

Probably Columnaris. It is a bacterial disease that is always present in fish but typically kills fish when they are stressed such as during spawning times. Crappies and bluegill are especially susceptible to it. Bullheads will also die from it.
