Guys, need some help here. I got a Wolly Pog at the Milwaukee Show. I tried it at the pond to see how it runs, and after a few rotations on the reel, it jut rolls in the water. And yes, I am reeling as slow as I possibly can. I don't have a lot of experience with wobblers like this. How do I tune it? I had a couple of thoughts, but before I proceed, I wanted to get some opinions on the likely issue so I can focus on changing one thing at a time. Here are my thoughts:
Do I cup the blade/lip a bit more so it "grabs" the water?

Do I bend the blade/lip backward more so it's perpendicular to the water surface? Or forward?

Is the blade/lip mounted too far back? In other words, the water is "catching" the round "nose" of the wood and spinning the lure?

Is the bait not weighted right? More weight in the back will push the nose higher and keep it from rolling?

I just don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Dan, I suggest you call Greg Nimmer at 715-612-0607 or e-mail him. He will correct the situation for you.

Based on what I described, you think the bait is untunable and a "lost cause" then? If so, then I will contact him. I just thought maybe I was missing something.

Your best bet is to call Greg. He'll know exactly what to do.

Ok, thanks. I guess the consensus is to call Greg. I kind of wanted to do it myself and learn how to tune a wobbler, but I guess I'll talk to Greg. BTW, does anyone know which issues of Esox Angler had part 2 of Lee Tauchen's Tuning Topwaters? I dug up the issues with prop baits, creepers, etc. But the Part 2 was globes & wobblers. I can't seem to find it.
