How many of you guys use a welded O ring as a connection point between the stranded wire leader materiel and the snap? I've just been looping the braided wire thru my stringease snap and crimping it. Am I doing it wrong?

I dont know either. I just happened to see Bob Turgeon, the field editor for M.H. magazine does it. He does this with fluorocarbon( not sure about braided wire), per his article in the June/July issue. I'm assuming it has to do with improving lure action.

I'm using a welded ring and a splitring (no snaps) in front of my lure and a welded ring between my leader and mainline. I don't trust snaps (not even staylock or what it is called) and don't see the purpose of a swivel between leader and mainline (unless using inline spinners)!

I tend to agree with you on the snaps even though I have never had one fail. Also on the no-swivel needed thing. Especially with braided line.

I know this is a different subject but: has anybody ever had a welded O ring fail? I haven't.....just curious.
