| I recently just installed a new Terrova I pilot link system in my boat and my Humminbird 898c unit is not reading the trolling motor. I've triple checked the installation steps and all the connections and still am unable for my unit to read the trolling motor. I greatly appreciate all your help and suggestions. |

Location: NoDak | I know mine is being picky to sat. Reception they don't connect till it is deployed and receives it's position at the motor and the depth finder also make sure you have the version 5.0 lake master chip |

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA | Like Sam said, lower the trolling motor and wait about 30 seconds. A message will appear or go to start up menu to see if says it is connected. Gave latest software in head unit. Once it recognizes trolling motor, update remote (can't do this till it recognizes). I assume test Both wires coming out of trolling motor are hooked up. |

Location: Aurora IL | Do a software update on your bird if its not brand new. See this all the time at work and this is the problem 99% of the time. Actually try this even if bird is new. Bill |

Location: Aurora IL | UF , another thought and I hope Its wrong but check the compatibility list on humminbirds site. Some high end machines will not link. If so you'll have to do everything with the handheld remote and wont get some features but still a great TM(wish I had one) Good Luck Bill |
