My dad has a sylvan that he pulled the aerator due to it not working. He doesn't use the live well and wants to plug the hole but we can't find a plug big enough to fit the hole. It's bigger than a regular boat plug and I need some ideas on what to plug it with. Any suggestions?

If you put a through hull fitting in the hole it will be easier to find a plug to fit the hole. Or put the aerator back in and find a plug to fit that hole.

Hiya,

Depending on the size of your opening, you might be able to install an aftermarket drain plug such as this:

Much of it depends on the size of the hole in the aluminum to make this work or not, but most marine stores would have something like this in multiple designs, giving you an option to see what would work best.

Go to a fleet farm or any other place that has dairy supplies and look for an inflation plug. That's what I use and they are pretty handy because they are tapered and pretty much indestructible so you can use them in multiple places. The brand I use is a "milk-rite pluggit inflation plug." Toss that into the google monster and you'll see what I'm talking about.
