What is the longest Muskie you have caught?

In my opinion when the record is broken and I believe it will, it won't necessarily be a long fish

Location: St Paul, Minnesota | 47 inches is my longest, though I caught a 46'er last August in Wisconsin that was way heavier. I can honestly say I've caught what I believe to be the biggest fish I've had on or seen follow. I guided my fishing partner to a 50 incher during the Frank Schneider Tournament last year that was cool, and then shortly after he missed what I would say was an honest 53 incher, which also may happened to be one of the three largest muskies I've ever seen. |

| 54" in 2008 (Guided) & 53" in 2011 (Unguided); both from Eagle Lake Ontario. After joking about "I'll probably never get one bigger" (than my 54") heading into the 2009 season...I lost one in 2009 that was maybe a little longer (I would say 54-56") but with a surreal girth. That was the lake's way of letting me know..."Oh yeah, I got bigger Muskies than your little 54, boy." |

| 49.5" Easiest fish I have ever caught. Also one of the most boring. I was busy talking, not paying attention. Looked down and there it was. Made half a turn, fish ate the lure, set the hook, short fight, in the net, hooks came out in the net. I think the whole thing between when I saw the fish and watched it swim away was probably less than a minute. |

| 58" no tail pinch , still working on the magic 60! You guy's that are looking to catch the fish of a lifetime should hook up with my friend Dave Curtis of Fishing Fanatic Guide service we have fished together for many, many years and Dave gets on big fish every year , being retired now and a full time guide he has lot's of time to pattern the big girl's and he makes a hell of a net man.

Location: New Jersey | Unfortunately I don't know. It was the 5th fish I ever caught, I caught it by myself 2 years ago and it gave me a lot of trouble in the net. I decided that the time it was going to take to measure it would've been the difference between it living and dying. I opted to get a quick pic and let it go. Took awhile, but she swam away. I got a 47" last year, it was most certainly bigger than that. Both NJ fish. |

| Mark I just hope you get a bigger one so you can relax about that fish. It was a nice solid fish but certainly you will get a bigger one sooner or later. Your a young man and have plenty of time to get one. Most Muskie fisherman have let big ones go without a good measurement for one reason or another. You will most certainly lose a bigger one that will bother you more! |

Hang in there. I've seen this scenario before. You're gonna break through real soon, and then they're gonna just keep coming. It's just the way it usually goes... |

| Mid 40s is the biggest I caught. 48.5 is the biggest Ive netted. The largest Ive had on the end of my line made the 48.5 look small but it broke off. That fish has cost me a lot of money, in boats, proper muskie gear, and trips ever since I had him on last Aug. |

Location: Hayward, WI | This is interesting to read. Sometimes it seems like everybody in the musky range has caught numbers of 50's. Shows that they aren't all that common. I'm still looking for one. My longest at 49 was also by far my heaviest. I've been targeting muskies for probably 8 or 9 years now and I don't believe I've seen a 50 yet. I've caught every inch of musky from probably 26 or 27 up to 49 inches, but that 50 has not shown itself yet. Hopefully this year!

Location: Contrarian Island | Curleytail better head over to MN! ; ) My biggest is 54.5 x 26". what I am just as happy for though is the many PB's that many of my buds have caught out of my boat ... and helping 3 buddys all get their 1st 50s (2 are their PBs)... those moments stick out as much or more than my own biggy..went over 50 over 50" out of my boat last season...
