| I've just started getting into fishing for muskie and I live in New Jersey and I was wondering if anyone knows any good places for me to go fishing for some muskie? And if you guys have any tips for me as a first timer I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys |

As far as tips go... There is a steep learning curve in muskie fishing. Expect a lot of hours and not many fish initially. It is however very rewarding when you start to put it all together. Hiring a guide is always a great idea to help put the pieces together.

| Check out mi22.com. Its the new jersey chapter of muskies inc. Come to a meeting the last tuesday of the month. Information can be found on the website. Definetly a way to get more information and a chance to talk to some seasoned veterans. Good group of guys.

| NJ fishing is pretty good and Muskie fishing only has a steep learning curve if you over think it, just have some fun. Super MI chapter there as well. |

| People are always more willing to help out once they see you have invested in a real net and good hook cutters. Starting on the smaller lakes may be best until you get more comfortable. As Joe said Chapter 22 website has lot of info. |

Location: Planet Meltdown | +3 on joining the Club. When I moved to NYC 8 years ago I was beside myself when I learned that NJ had Muskies and a really good state stocking program. MI22 has deep ties with the State hatchery and we do a lot to fund the program. Get involved, come to a meeting. Great group of guys that are more than willing to share their knowledge. There is a meeting this coming Tuesday at Lake Arrowhead club in Denville I believe it starts at 7pm but people usually get there early to try out new baits off the back dock.

| The fish are starting to bite. Would be a good time to attend that meeting. Like Brian said people will have equipment for you to look at and people will certainly be talking fishing. All the N.J. lakes with Muskies are listed on the chapter 22 site with fishing reports that are sometimes up to date. |
