| I was out on the northern lakes last weekend. Very slow. Had one swipe and miss a twitch bait in very skinny water but that was it. Talked to a guy who got a sub 30 fish and a mid 30s pike on glides. Water was 53-56 degrees. Very little new weed growth Did mark a lot of fish on the primary break lines and fished that for a while with no result. Hopefully the weather this week helps things out for this weekend. |

Location: Alsip, IL | Trailer tire blew on 294 so we got a late start. Didn't even raise one, well at least I don't think I Couldn't see more than a couple inches down with that water clarity. Hopefully next week will be better. |

Location: Alsip, IL | 61 was as cold as I saw. 65 out on grass. Couldn't see any weeds due to the clarity but we did pull up some nice green weeds on a few spots so they're coming up. That was my first time out there so I'm sure I wasn't in all the right spots but aside from boat traffic it was a nice looking body of water. Had a good time Can't wait to be back |

Location: Northern Illinois | Had a beauty up to the boat this afternoon. A gosh d....n cigarette boat was
thundering past & I looked up at it & wasn't paying attention coming in to
my eight, felt a little something, Look down & she was right there laying parallel
to the boat for a split second. Man, that stings a little. Was a very pretty fish.
First follow for us this year. Things can only go one direction from here. |

| Only been out there once so far and had something hit a shallow raider, but dont think it was a ski. There is a decent amount of muskies(mid 20s-40s) being caught about 40 min south east but no motor boat access. |

Location: Northern Illinois | Was out this afternoon. Water was the clearest I have ever seen on the chain, it was
pretty cool to be able to actually see the bottom & your lure coming in. My son & I had two lazy follows. The last week & 1/2 we have had eight follows, w/two half-hearted swipes at the bait. They just come in slow & eyeball the deal & melt away.
We haven't put one in the boat yet, but it should be heating up. Good luck out there. |

Location: Alsip, IL | Lost 2 last Saturday in the frv tourney. Tough break but it happens. The one we saw was probably 35ish smacked a tony grant glider with 40 minutes left in the tournament. I think 12 fish were counted. Biggest being 41. Gliders and swim baits were only lures that moved any fish for us. Some had luck on dawgs and bucktails. |

Location: Northern Illinois | Fished yesterday on the chain & managed one in the boat. Quite a few follows
& a couple other nippers.....still not hitting very aggressively. Water on Chain
is still fairly clear. Not a real big one, but first of the year for us & a very pretty
fish.

| It seems like the lack of weeds has really spread the fish out and not kept them in one place. They are scattered but eating. Breaklines, shad schools, any green weeds have held fish. We have have had multiple fish per trip lately. Got 4 yesterday on the northern lakes but all lakes are producing at some time. It's definitely a different year out there due to lack of weeds but as a whole, fishing in general has been really good. The fish are fat and healthy looking. The hard work and money that the local clubs and Dnr have put into this place has made it a great fishery.
