| I bought my dad one for Christmas last year. We immediately returned it after using it once. I have been a Garcia user my entire fishing life, but this reel just does not feel right. It is mostly plastic.
I would not bother with the Eon. Just go for a C3 or C4 if you are looking for a new reel. In my opinion, the Eon is not worth your time. |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I have plenty of C3's and C4's just looking for something new.
I like to get new reels, not because I need them, or because I can really afford to keep buying them, but just because I am addicted to stuff like that!
Anybody have anyting good to say?

| I will say that it does cast very smooth and the brake system seems to be of high quality, but it just does not seem as durable as the rest of the Garcia line. Who knows you may like it. If you buy from Cabelas they take it back no questions ask, so what can it hurt.
I am with you on the addiction to new equipment. It is a dangerous addiction when you are right out of college like I am. Money can disappear very fast buying muskie gear. |

| Personally, it just did not feel right in my hand. The casting and gears were good, but not that far superior to a C3 or C4. At least not enough for me to put up with the plastic housing.
It just seemed to me that the quality of construction may have been sacrificed to allow for the better drag system and gearing.

If you are looking for a "new" new reel.... http://www.hatterasoutfitters.com/
But I am with the others, I haven't heard any good about the EONs so far.

| I have one and dont like it at all. It may work good for light baits but it wont hold up to Big baits for more than a year. If you want one check out ebay, there is a reason why thier sellin so cheap.

| I have to say I didn't like the Eons when I picked them up. Cheap feeling things. Don't like the plastice reel seat. Those plastic things have a habit of flexing out of the handle in the middle of a good hookset. Abu has this thing about trying to put products out there that are different or a gimick, however you want to look at it. They never last long on the market. You notice what never changes in the lineup, 4600, 5500, 6500 and 7000. I am a tried and true garcia man and will always be that way. It is hard to improve the best products on the market. I will give them an A for effort. We have tried their new products and always sent them back for the C series reels and the folks there are real good about it. I will quit rambling with this statement, new products are fun to buy but not always fun to use. |

Location: Freedom, WI | I bought one liked it dropped it once and the plastic frame broke. Sent it in and they replaced it with a new one that has a metal frame. Still like it but, I like things a little different. Not sure I would buy another though.
