| Im looking ar a 115 merc its a 1988 model and was curious if any one knows if those have a remote oil tank or if the tank is under the hood of the motor just curious if any one knows or has one. The rason why I ask is because the guy had the oil injection disconected and I want to reconect it after I rebuild it its only got 80 psi in one cylinder and I know of someone who can rebuild it for me for $1,700 to $2,000 and they give you a 1 year warrenty. |

| cheaper than a new engine and runs like new to. and just as reliable. I know my dads 1987 135 merc had a remote tank thats why I was curious since this was a year older than his. |

Location: Hayward, WI | That motor would of had Auto-blend, not oil injection. It was a contraption that was supposed to mix the oil and gas inline before the motor. They did not last and I would not recommend trying to use it. Just mix your gas 50:1. That is allot of money to put into a 26 year old motor, be sure the person has experience with inline 6 Mercury outboards as they are different than most outboards. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Merc shows first 4 cyl 115 in 1989. That should have gear driven oil pump which worked fine. Oil tank is under the hood. |

| the guy says its a 1988 115 4 cylinder. He said 1 cylinder has 80 psi and the rest are 120. im assuming its got a bunch of scoring in the one cylinder. He said the oil injection is disconected also. I know its exspensive to rebuild a motor but its cheaper than buying a brand new one and itll run just as well and last just as long. |
