| With artillery prep then send in the tankers!!!lol sorry
I like to throw glide baits and small bucktails. Try to find the shallow bays, and any new weeds. last year i had luck on the first break line in front of shallow bays

| Probably going to run the boat around and find the warmest water this week. Get the boat all checked out and do a little scouting. Wouldn't doubt that our muskies are pre-spawn and still out a little deeper. |

I'll be approaching it from my deck with a large tumbler of bourbon watching the NHL playoffs until the ice melts. I figure a minimum of two more weeks before it goes out. |

| Glide baits and a creeper. The creeper was money on the weekend of the early opener last year. Glide baits got some attention as well. |

| Took part in a fyke net survey for muskies on a flowage with the WI DNR over the weekend. Water temps actually dropped significantly over the last week from mid 40s to 36 degrees as of yesterday morning. Pike are actively spawning, but no 'skis in the nets after being set for a week. All of the lakes in extreme NE WI and the U.P. still have ice cover. Will be interesting to see what conditions look like by the opener, but as mentioned above, warmer water, emerging weeds and primary breaks will be a good place to start. |

Location: Tomahawk, WI | My goto bait in years with cold springs has been a small bucktail with brass or copper blades with a brown or orange tail. Pretty sure that's what ill be throwing this year. I'll keep a small glide bate on the other rod. Ill be fishing in three feet or less on a lake with stained water. |

I'd much rather go out casting baits and not catch anything than sit inside anymore after this winter. Temps looking to be low to mid 50's anyway, shouldn't be that bad. Can't wait to get out Saturday morning... |

Can't beat ice melting in a glass watching hockey. |

The muskies have to eat in these water temperatures in the fall, they have to eat in the spring too! |

50% of the skis, 100% of the salmon and trout and around 15% of the cooling lake fish were caught using the devils method. |

Are you getting your salmon/trout out of Waukegan ? That Lake Michigan is one great fishery.

Location: Maple Grove, MN | Both my kids have an AAU basketball tournament that weekend. So, I'll be driving to and fro and watching many basketball games. Don't know when I'll get out Muskie fishing. Hopefully some time the week after.
I'm actually looking forward more to my next saltwater trip for Tarpon. Muskie fishing is OK, but I find Tarpon so much more fun and challenging. They fight and jump like there is no tomorrow. Most of the larger Muskies that I've hooked over the past five years have just sat there shaking their head and had to be coaxed to run. And even when they did take off its like three 30 yard runs and they are done. Big Tarpon can take off on a 250 yard run and won't quit until they are exhausted. And I can get as many Tarpon on in a day as I can Muskies all year.
Now if I could just talk my wife and kids into moving to Florida. |

Will probably fish for bass & walleyes for a couple weeks & let the water warm
up a little. Still keep the ski pole in the boat....just won't throw for them
exclusively. |
