I've been going through foot pedals about one a year. Its getting very frustrating and costly. I take great care of mine to. I always bring mine in when trailering my boat, keep it in the house, Idk why this is happening. Anyone have a similar problem or a solution?

Keep buying pedals. They are junk. I just sold a boat with a powerdrive and sent 5 pedals with the boat. 4 were junk (not sure why I kept them). One a year sounds about average.

Sand eats them up in a hurry. Try sprayin them out out with canned air or an air hose after a weekend on the water.

Buy a motor guide wireless. Have had them on my last two boats with zero problems. I have two friends that have had the same issues. With all the problems with minn kotas I just can't figure out why there so popular.

Maybe I'm just lucky on this. Still using the same foot pedal that came with the new boat in March of 2008. No problems with it, ever. I do have a habit of rinsing the sand off of my shoes before I step into my boat. A little OCD when it comes to trying to keep my boat clean.

powerdrive pedals are junk....very hard for them to make it through 2 seasons of consistent use. Just part of the b.o.a.t. experience

Over the years I've had your same problems. After going through the product exchange process year after year, I decided to do something about it myself with a few "MacGyver" modifications.

Pound on my troller 100 days/yr, and it's still kicken and about to begin on year 3.

I solved the problem by upgrading to the ipilot. I like it better than the pedal. You'll loose the pedal and only have the hand held remote

I did look at ipilot. I just like having a foot pedal. But for 80 bucks every 100 hours of fishing it's just not worth it. And it's only a matter of time before one fails mid tourney then I'll just unhook the whole thing n watch it sink to the bottom.
