| I just got back from the expo and was amazed at the number of booths selling huge cranks. There was at least 5 booths selling lures over a foot long (not counting the lip) . Just a few short years ago there was next to no one selling these and now there are sprouting up everywhere . I just want to know - Are you guys on this board catching ski's on these behemoth's or are they just catching fisherman. The prices range from high to "do you take installments" on these things. Maybe they have there place on huge bodies of water but I don't see it as being a viable option for me -- any comments ? ManitouDan | |

I saw them throwing 10"-18" swimbaits on hank parker the other day fishing for bass in california. I dont' know why it seems that big baits catch big fish though. In the chat lots of people talk about the size of their baits, its amazing and they are catching huge fish on them. Hopefully somone that knows something on this will post, because I am interested too.

Location: Girard Pa. | Dan,they definetly catch fish,a fall bait ,but they work. They get down to depths at slow speeds,I was at the show (Great show eh)I know whishmasters catch fish, even though I'm tempted to hang them on the wall,(thank god they float!!!!)the remmy baits have scored numbers of fish in the high 40's to mid 50's" range.I know of guys up on the Bay that troll some homemade baits thatr are up to 32" long. They have their time and Place some are a labor of Love like Rolfs baits (whishmaster) and some aren't made so well. The Parrywinkle(no longer made I think) was the forrunner of all these big baits, its record of big fish catches is what started this along with the Big bait =big fish mentality which I personally agree with, But like anything they have there place and time. That walleye guy will still get a 50# fish on a 3" rapala so go figure.....Artie
