| I am looking for some ideas on how to install a pole on my boat so I can attach a go pro. I have some ideas but want some advise before I start drilling holes into my deck. I know Keyes has some kind of setup that he uses and it seems to be pretty good. If anyone has done this please help out. Pictures of your set up would be awesome. |

| have you thought about getting the clamp mount and attaching it to your anchor light? |

| I have. I just dont know if the back light pole can handle the weight. I know the go pro isnt that heavy but I would feel safer if I had something a little more strudy. (I dont think the poles are engineered to have much weight on them, I have a few bent ones that have hit my canopy when I forgot to take them down at night). I also would like it to be a little higher than my back light. The tallest lights I have seen are maybe 4 ft. I was also thinking I may want to have a mount in the middle of the boat on each side. |

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | The best setup I saw was a pole that screwed into the seat base on the back deck. They had three guys fishing out of that boat. Said you were aware of the pole so it never really got in the way. I asked where they got it, took a seat screw in and added it to a AL pole that extends. They could collapse the whole thing and store in the rod locker. |

Location: ON | Aluminum or pvc pole, attached to a seat base or to a vertical surface on a side storage bin.
There are so many options and its easy to attach a circular pipe via a clamp or sliding into a slightly larger pipe that is clamped in or screwed to a backing plate that can be wing nutted or easily bolted through plywood or aluminum.
Assuming you have rod storage it should be no issue to put a 6' pole into the locker.
pvc pipe, aluminum pipe, extendable fiberglass paint stick extension, boat tarp extendable pole?
