Guys,what Bird should I get up front and with what options. I was thinking ONIX as it's the newest model? Or should I look at 900 or 1100 series and with what options.Thanks and do I want I-Pilot link to my Terrova? Can I get SI on troller and do i want it?

If you are going to buy a bird you want the link I have the 1198si up front .I use the follow the contour most of the time set depth speed and just fish. I don't know any thing about the onix I think the touch would be niece to have. I like having the big screen up front if i was buying new i would want the newest thing going. Mine are only 2 years old so ilk be keeping what i have till a buy a new boat. Then I'll buy the latest and greatest

Just bought the 1199sicombo built in antenna (well priced!)
That all you will ever need and then some!
I sold my 1198.
You will need an adapter cable to hook the link system to the graph $30.
Yes to the link!
You should save enough over the Onix to buy the link head.
You need a bottom plate to mount to the terrova $18
I would mount the transducer on the back of the boat as the SI works best at 2 MPH.
Then you can always idle around with the side imaging an mark some fish or structure before you set up your contour or trail.
(your boat is always in the water your trolling motor isn't)
You won't miss any fish with this unit.

Thx Hunt.So I don't have a ducer on the trolling motor? Or DI on troller and SI on back?I plan on the newLowrance Elite 7 x with chirp on console.
