Pretty reel, and you can get a color-coordinated rod to match!

Curious if anyone has tried these yet? One of the Lindners was using this setup on their "Angling Edge" TV show last weekend, throwing smaller bucktails for muskies on an unnamed lake in Ontario. I assume it was taped last year.

I believe Al Lindner is on Quantum's prostaff. They look good and probably perform very well for their class. Couple of reasons why I suspect it hasn't really caught on among the muskie crowd:

1. Price/performance relative to the Toro's and Curado/Lexa 300's
2. Too small of a marketing budget

My cousin and uncle each got one. Incredibly light compared to anything else even my nacl 60. It's like there isn't a reel on the rod. My uncle only went musky fishing like 2 times last year and my cousin mainly throws pounders and tens so he uses his other setup most of the time but he used this one for jerkbaits and small bucktails and I think it's great for those applications but can't really give a report on durability since he hasn't really pushed it to its limits with harder lures.

I just saw that show. It looks like a pretty good reel. I've been using the "controllers" for trolling and have had VERY good luck with them. I may give a couple a try. I'll hang on to my revo for 10's but, I can definitely see one on my jerk bait rod.

Great reel and very smooth. I've got the PPT model outfitted with power handle. My only complaint is it's almost too light of a reel to be matched up for how heavy most musky rods are. But if you can find one light enough, it's an easy combo to handle and enjoyable to use. I've got it spooled with 65lb Spectron and use it for twitch baits, occasional glider, small cranks, and double 8's.

The one thing that concerns me is thumb bar is of cheaper plastic, and knowing how hard some of us are on our reels it could be one of the first things that could give out. But after a year so far so good.

After ordering two of the new 300 Irons, I believe they may be built better than the EXO for our type of fishing. And $100 less too.

Thanks for input. I found another thread from 2012 out here about them. I didn't realized they were that old, but the first model did have an issue with the door opening - that's supposedly been fixed.

I'm considering the 200 as a dual-purpose: use for Largemouth back home and to put on a 7'2" or 7'6" MH up north for a break from the big stuff, or just for jigs or smaller lures. A little concerned about the aluminum gear, though - especially for $269. The 300 has a brass gear, but if I'm going that big I'd probably just get another Curado or Revo.

I will say the 300 is smaller than a 300 curado and 50 revo. Really neat reel. BR
