I have some questions on transducer configurations I currently have a 619 w/ console mounted hds 8 and hds 5 with through hull transducers. I'm changing out my trolling motor to a Terrova 112 US2 with link and adding a 1199si with drill through hull transducer at the transom step. Now the question has anybody experienced experienced interference having 2 transducers in close proximity? Also the wiring of the Ethernet how does the Link connect do I need the Ethernet box? Thanks for the input.

From what I have gathered, if it was just two units then no box needed. being you have three components all linked together, youll need the ethernet box (basically a router) to connect all 3. Check out youtube for a guy named Doug Vahrenberg. He literally has 100+ videos on how to use, network, install, interpret, etc strictly Humminbird and MinnKota components.

i experienced some problems like that. the more powerful unit (Lowrance) gave my garmin fits.they are both gone now. i have 998's now. the humminbirds can turn just the sonar off without powering off the units and not have to go through the boot up screens every time.very easy. but not sure on the hds units but i would believe you can do the same. especially if you can buy them without transducers. a quick call now to lowrance can save you a bunch of time.

Thank you. The YouTube video answered a lot. Still to see on the possible interference.

I just bought the 1199 and sold my 1198 when I went to hook up the link there was no male end on the 1199 graph. You will need a adapter cable to go to the unit as they changed the backs! ( left out the male port) funny the adapter cable didn't come with the new graph! there about 30 bucks. I suppose most won't have the link! (I was going wild for a while!)
Now I am installing a 12 receptacle for the hand unit as i heard they go about 4 hrs on a charge!
I will be dialed in by Sunday and be able to sort through the thousands of lures I need to unload to make room for the ones I bought this year! What a disease! All to kiss a fish on the head and send her swimin!

The new 1199 needs a Dongal cable to tie the Ethernet cable to the link or in my case a Ethernet hub. Bird lowered the price point on the new models but in the end with additional cables and gps puck you've spent the same as last years model. It's been interesting to say the least. Very greatful for the Marine General team and the lead from musky_madness. Thank

Thanks Landbigfish! The Humminbirds are great units, I actually stayed with the older unit when I switched over to a 898 from a 798 because I didn't want the dongle. I like the screw on connection a lot more than the push pin style.
