Support our troops

Subject: Support our troops

For the past couple of weeks now as I have crossed the bridge from Wisconsin going into Stillwater I have noticed that both sides of the road have been filled with anti-war protesters. Now I do not agree with thier meassage and have decided to man the road in support of our tropps and our president. If any fellow anglers care to express this viewpoint feel free to join me Sunday March 8th. I will be at the bridge by 8:30 am. I have made several signs such as Liberate Iraq, Honk-Support our troops. It will be intersesting to see the response of not only the passers by but also the peaceniks when I have taken over "their" spot.

No its not rumor, I saw a report last night showing many of the human shields boarding buses and heading out.
TOO scared and home sick, our troops dont have the luxury to leave when they get scared or home sick do they!

I crossed that bridge twice today...once at 8:00am and once at 1:30pm on my way to and from Rochester, MN. Never saw anyone on the bridge..???

Good luck, I"ll be helping to instruct an ice-diving class on Sunday.

Sponge....ditto's.

I heard the Iraqi delegate to the UN try to chide Colin Powell. He asked if it was true that only 13% of young Americans could find Iraq on a map. Powell responded, "Yes. Unfortunately for you, those 13% are MARINES!"

Shep, now that was a great response. I like Powell.

Who watched the presidential address last night? I did. Thought it was well worded and to the point. He put it in the right perspective...it's just like raising a teenager. Giving them ultimatum after ultimatum without consequences just doesn't work. At some point, you have to bring the hammer down.

Great link Steve.
I agree with what Bush is doing, its Saddams choice. He does not care about human lives, not even his own people. America needs to wake up, he is a cold blooded killer.
Have we forgoten 9/11, what did we do to provoke this attack, why inocent people.
He did it once, they will do it again. People say give them more time, is 12 years not enough, lets finish it and be done with it.

I would love to be there to help you. I think its great that you are supporting our guys. On the coming war and President Bush, I think people forget the fact that sometimes you don't know the whole story. There is definately more going on behind the scenes than they are telling us and I don't feel that the President would put us into the war for personal reasons.
The thing I would really like to know is who gets their OIL from IRAQ. Are France, Germany and Russia getting most or a good percentage of oil from IRAQ? I know unemployment in Germany (9 %) is skyrocketing and they do not want to get involved because of their internal problems. A shortage in oil production could hurt their economy futher, that is why I want to know who gets their oil from where. I think the German Chancellor is also afraid another political party will take over as a result of the hard times. These Econmical and internal problems somewhat mirror Pre world war II Germany. I am not saying germany will rebuild its army and take over the world , but the government structure might change as a result of problems. France is France these people are the Pawn shop owners of the world. They sell to anyone with money and don't ask questions. Time and time again they have sold Planes, missles and other arms to who ever. The USS Stark was hit by a French Exocet missle shot from an Iranian Plane. I believe the plane too was French. The British lost ships in the Faulkland Islands to French hardware. Many rogue nations and groups by French!! I am surprised it hasn't come up more. I am not looking forward to the war but feel if it keeps us safer and prevents or lessens another World trade center tragedy, I am all for it!

Fish It, thanks for the link, not that it says much for some of the people of our country, but that picture says more than most could imagine.  Howie, thanks for the address, I think I will write.  I know how bad it hurts to be so far away, but at the same time a good soldier also feels good to be there doing what he/she has trained to do.  May they all have a safe and speedy return!
