No ice, no nets. But If you go, fish shallow!

Lol ToddM!! Yeah, definitely not throwing any Pounders out there! The ice has been out for about a week now. Things are picking up and will only get better. The nets will go in soon but that doesn't mean the fish stop eating. Ill be guiding in that area for the next 40 days, so if anyone needs reports on those lakes feel free to ask.

Fished there Friday. Temps in morning around 43 making it up to 48 in areas by three. Saw plenty of fish on sandy bottom but most were sluggish at best. Missed one around 30" on a small phantom but that's the only fish that chased. Fisheries boat cruised to back end of lake briefly with nets in boat but quickly loaded the boat back up without setting. Didn't see or hear anyone do any good. First time on the lake and its definitely frustrating to fish with emergent vegetation. Hopefully get out again before it gets too thick

Was out on Spring Lake today. Caught one nice 36" on a Rat-L-Trap. That was the only fish we saw all day. Tallking to others, didn't sound like anyone was having much luck. Nets are not in yet.

The nets went in last Wednesday. The DNR ran them 3/27 and 3/28.
They are done netting on Spring.

There were 226 fish netted this year in the 2 days.
3/27 - 89 males & 51 females
3/28 - 52 males & 34 females

The males have all already been returned to the lake.
