I have been tying some bucktails and have had a couple hanks of flash where the strands were sticking together. Most separated and were fine, but 1 seems unworkable, so I am returning it. Any ideas what causes this and is there any trick to more easily separating a sticky hank for tying?

I've had one afternoon's worth of sunshine bugger up a few smaller pkgs before.
A soak in some lukewarm soapy water loosened one up for me.

Tried that and seemed to make it worse, but thanks anyway.

No. It's like they are stuck together. I separated the strands a bit by hand then washed it with soap and they stuck back together. I am just going to send it back. Not worth the effort. I've had a couple hanks that stuck a little, but this i ridiculous.

You could try a little vegetable oil.

I would try cod liver oil. That way if it works I have some scent on it...
