There are, but I don't believe as many as down in the southern portion of the bay, towards the Fox River. More muskies are down that way due to them spawning in the shallower, warmer bays. Catch a few when trolling for walleye in the spring.

There's tons of big skis in Sturgeon Bay-----saw em all over the bays last Spring doing their "spawning thing". The bass tourney guys were hooking them "by accident" up in the shallows. Big muskies, big walleyes and BIG smallies---- Sturgeon Bay is incredible.

The weedbed from Leatham's to the east, north side of the channel, is best. There is a bit of a channel from the creek entering. In spring, I would go way back. Nice, dark muck is back there. On the south side, I would look to the entrance of Strawberry Creek, if there has been some rain to get a nice flow into the channel. To the west of town, the north side just past the boat yards is shallow with a lot of rock. Should warm up and will also have many smallie fishermen. I'd try the muck bay for 'skies, as you will get privacy and a shot at a quality northern, 30"+.

Sorry, I should be clearer. We have taken two from the weedbed on the north side of the channel that runs east from Leatham's Lodge. Both low 40's, caught fishing for northerns. Both very white. Three years apart, but might have been the same fish. In spring, I'd go to the back of that bay, it gets mucky, gets a lot of sun and should hold heat. One came on a Giant Killer and one on a regular size Williams Wobbler. We get a lot of 28"+ northerns from that weedbed. Good eatin'!
