This is more than likely a dumb question and it isn't my first. Why is the MN Muskie Expo so late? Chicago and Milwaukee are really early in the year and MN is last dog to the dish. Just asking.

I've wondered that and I came up with probably because we have a late opener?

Tackle Industries will have specials on all lures and rods. We will also have our new VEXAN bass rods for $100 at the show. Retail on the VEXAN line is $129.95 so that is a great special but LOL its for bass not musky. Otherwise we will have some clearance lures for $5 each and buy 3 get one free on rods and lures at the show. Don't forget to bring the kids, free $13 musky lures for them and our $80 youth rods will be $50 at the show. If you are too far away from the show just email me and I will get you the youth rods for $50 plus a little for shipping and throw in a free lure for your kid.

This is only a guess, But I believe that it's because our season starts later then everyone else in the US. WI and ours are about a month apart. Theirs is obviously a month sooner, but their season starts roughly about a month sooner then ours as well. Just my .02 Cents

heres some input Im buds with Paul the promoter

couple major shows early in the year at Chi and Milw means that sometime lure makers need time to catch up on their stock an April date helps that'
cant really win on the date people say they miss March but people dont remember that just about every third year we got 'pasted' with a big snow storm. Not that big a deal for metro guys but out of towners a lot of time had to stay home because of snow packed highways,,April date removes most of the snow blizzard danger but then people complain that its TOO nice out-so you cant win.
Concordia is only available during spring break otherwise its used for sports People liked the old Blaine sports center but they became unreasonable with their requests for the new surface-no boats and only a portion of a square footage could be used and rent tripled.

Sound like theres going to be some really good deals/rebates from the MFG'rs but they have a policy about not listing prices for certain locations that not everybody has access to,

Paul the promoter is always at the front desk give him your input he is always willing to hear it

The first weekend in April is BEST TIME for this show, weather should be OK for guys that travel to the show, most have Tax $$$ in the pocket wanting to spend it, and it is the last show of the year.

Pimp My Rod and Reel will have a booth at the MN Show.

Not great. Get there early when it opens or wait till after 1:00 when people start trickling out to open spots or you will probably be walking a couple blocks. Lot next to venue is small. There is more spots behind the Holiday station across street but they fill up quickly. Then after that it's street parking.

I would say the parking is fine. The location is in a residential neighborhood so if the lots are full there is ample street oportunities. Its not like there are NOT places to park in close proximity wither in the lots or on a residnetial street...

When the move first happened, I was very disappointed. I graduated from CSP and feared the parking would be a mess. Well, the last four years there have been great. I was way off and to me it seems there is plenty of parking, whether in a lot or on the street (I've done both). The Ganglehoff is a much better venue in my opinion, too. Way better lighting, more/better seating for speakers and plenty of room to sit down with my little girl and eat a sandwich, rest, etc.

I was apprehensive at first...but this is a well run show. Love it and can't wait!

They will teach you how to clean and grease your own reel. It can take a while to get a seat though. I don't think they have replacement parts, I can't remember. My thumb bar was damaged and they did not have that part, but they may have had replacement drag washers.

Shimano and especially ABU do have some replacement parts "no guaranty" ABU seems to bring a little more but its always a limited supply so its best to go to that booth first when you get in door or on friday for best luck.

.. WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THURSDAY TO 7 PM CDT FRIDAY...

Looks like by mid Saturday they will have everything cleaned up if it does stop Friday night. I don't see Friday night being a gang buster night for any booths at the show. Better bring chips, beer and a TV

Saturday??? How about Friday?!?! :o) That's my day to go to the expo with my daughter and watch her laugh and have a great time with "dad."

Saturday I spend with my dad and then my father in-law joins us at O'Gara's. Like I've said before...Christmas, new year's, and birthday all wrapped up into one weekend.

Bring on the snow! I'll be there, either way.

Who cares if it snows! It's not like we haven't been abused by it all winter already. I'm guessing a lot of people are calling in sick tomorrow "due to the blizzard" and the traffic will be light. Its also spring break which will help with travel.

I'll be there Friday after work unless someone who has been driving in these conditions for 30 years but still doesn't now how to drive in this stuff after 30 years takes me out!

How are the roads in the metro today? What is a good resource for checking road conditions? Thanks!

Snow covered and a little slick in spots... but the plows are out and the snow is supposed to stop sooner rather than later. As far as checking road conditions, i just look out the office window, so can't really help you there.
