Please God (jehovah, allah, buddah, muhammed, jesus, great spirit, flying spaghetti monster, etc. etc.), make it warmer. Melt the ice. Open the waters and allow the fisherman of this community to attempt to lure your bounty into eating facsimiles of your creations so that we may discuss our successes and failures.

We can discuss how to catch fish. We can discuss what to you to do it. We can talk about where to go and what to use when we get there. People can show pics of what they caught, then others can then say the fish were not that size. People can get new boats, others can say those boats are not worthy, but then will say why their boat is the place.

God (and the rest), you know you love muskie fisherman, so please make it warm again.

Then we can get back to talking about fishing that occurred in the last 50 years and stop the insanity.

or you could go drill a hole and jig whitefish or set tip-downs for the coming ice crappie season … some of the best fishing is right now and in the coming month. why rush it?

Once the lakes clear we'll have to start praying to the Muskie Gods, and they are far more cruel and demand SACRIFICE! Only when you consider bass fishing do they show themselves. Just enough to rope you back in.

I have sacraficed my liver for the good of this fishery, I am ready to put the good foot forward and rediscover the soft water. I have accepted my fate and have let the chips fall. I have toiled and I have torn. I have poured over every inch of water in the promised land. I have respooled and resharpened the hooks. I have looked to the future and I have seen the light. I am willing to allow myself to be taken where the forwinds blow. I have lit fires and I have the desires, to depart on the journey of the fish legend. If I shall lead or if I shall follow, it is not known. I soon will be out on the water, and then you shall know how safe is your daughter. I say these words as a forshadowing of what is to come, I will be fishing muskies and drinking plenty of rum.

I dreamed of swimming in pre-spawn waters in a big shallow bay with the beginnings of weed shoots sprouting up. I snorkeled around until I found the right spot, then of course started casting while standing chest-deep in the muck. I had a big one boil on my top raider in 2 ft of water, just kept reeling steadily until I felt her, then laid into her...

...only for her to shake the hooks in seconds. But she was only feet away, and fast I did swim, and wrangled her into submission after getting grip by her jaw. My brother luckily had a LifeProof case on his iPhone to take a picture. Didn't get a measurement, but my dream-mind estimated her at 48. Big enough.

Trailered the boat [which we didn't use, since we were swimming] and headed for home through the 18" of fresh snow that fell while fishing and swimming. Spotted a bobcat on the side of the road and that, too, I wrangled into submission for a picture.

Cabin fever is getting bad. This seems appropriate here for some reason.

DRINKING SONG

I want to die in the saddle. An enemy of civilization
I want to walk around in the woods, fish and drink.

I'm going to be a child about it and I can't help it, I was
born this way and it makes me very happy to fish and drink.

Water will never leave earth and whiskey is good for the brain.
What else am I supposed to do in these last days but fish and drink?

I am normally fishing my Indiana waters by now with a few pre spawn fatties being caught. This spring and early summer is going to be my last hurrah for a while considering my wife is due with our first child due on June 7. I need this ice to go bye bye fast.

If you're a Jew, you should should probably carry a little more reverance for the God of your people (Jehovah). I don't think anyone who actually follows the religion of Judaism would put him in a list that includes the spaghetti monster.

If you're going to stay on this site, you should probably learn either to have a sense of humor or learn to not take everything as a jab directly at you. I'm sorry if I offended you with my off-color humor, but in reality I was trying to be inclusive to EVERYONE on this site.

Now that you have basically taken a funny post and made it a serious argument (thusly missing the intent of this thread entirely), I will tell you why if I had this thread to do over again, I would actually NOT change the content of the post (though I might have made more funny comments): this site is for everyone. For Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhits, Agnostics and yes, even Pastafarrians. We will not tolerate negative comments towards any of these groups. Nor will we tolerate racist, sexist or comments about people's various lifestyle choices. We DO have visitors to this site that are of all these different backgrounds and they will NOT be discriminated against.

This is not, nor will it ever be a Christian Website, or a Jewish one...or a Pastafarian website. If that is not ok with you, then other choices of sites are just a click away.

I know this one's going to lockdown, but it's a shame. I haven't laughed this much in quite a while. Jehovah. Priceless.

And I never even KNEW there was such a thing as Pastafarians. We always just called them "daygo's"... Wait, can I say that here??

Seriously! First that guy was the murderer of fun by making something funny into serious...then Dad has to come in and boot the guy just when we were all about to have a ton of fun at his expense!

I don't know about that, Slamr. Volleyball hasn't hurt you any.

You guys would have hung, quartered, and packaged the poor fellow. I would have received no end of alerts and complaints, we are in the middle of a Bass Elite on BassFIRST.com causing me to invest much time in social media updates, I have the Cap City Muskie school tomorrow, and the New London show Sunday. And, I have a bad case of gas. Or good, depending on perspective.

I won't miss him for a little vacation, and he'll be back eventually anyhow. Not that hard to figure out.

He fell victim to one of the classic blunders... The most famous is never get involved in a World Record debate with Larry Ramsell. And only slightly less well known is this: never go in against a Jew when your forum access is on the line.

I have been fishing in the Guyana South America Rainforest the past month, not ready to return to Buffalo, NY and the 16" of snow that fell yesterday there. 89 degrees with high sunshine today! Clients caught 5 Arapima to 175 lbs, catfish to 140 lbs and over 500 other toothy critters!

Since this is St Patrick's day I'm not sure the muskie gods will accept the offering of green beer but i'm sure they can handle a Jameson or two. In place of the spaghetti they will have to make do with the corn beef and cabbage today.

NEWSFLASH! WINTERNET TO FREEZE SOLID IN THE NORTH!

Be alarmed. This is real. Balmy Sunday night up here.

Sue is smart enough not to lay in the snow in a weird looking goofy bikini when it's that cold. A person could freeze stuff.

I think it was the waning crescent.
Time for a Musky Hunter S. Thompson Quote
“This muskie fishing business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long soft plastic hallway where jet skiers and pleasure boaters run free, and deep cycles die like dawgs. There's also a negative side.”

Slamr - 3/13/2014 6:29 PM

NEWSFLASH! WINTERNET TO FREEZE SOLID IN THE NORTH!

Be alarmed. This is real. Balmy Sunday night up here.

Sue is smart enough not to lay in the snow in a weird looking goofy bikini when it's that cold. A person could freeze stuff.

Inland trout opener in NY State on Tuesday and forcast is for 64 degrees, now if I get way up stream near its source I might find low clean water to fish! Looks like winter is slowly fading away!

I haven't wet a line in a year now and live in a place of weird fishing. I would love to be back in Wisconsin slaying the late ice crappies!

I just got about 6" at my house. Filled up the void created by the couple warm days we had this weekend. We can't seem to get ahead.
