Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | I'm looking for a replacement lower end for a 115 hp Johnson 1991. I checked on some of the suggestions and 1,000.00 is way out of line. I had it welded last year but I'm not real confident in the way it was done and would use it as a spare. If anyone knows of anything out there please send me a email.
Thanks,

Probably can give twin city outboard a call. I would suspect they will have full lower units, but they also would have just the lower unit housing in which you could put the innards of yours into it.
Another option is to continue to watch ebay for a parts motor or just the lower unit itself.
New lower ends are about as much as that motor is worth give or take a few hundred or so..
That's the unfortunate part of owning an older model motor...

Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | Thanks Steve, that's what I'm finding out. I got the motor for practically nothing so spending a llittle to make every thing sound again is not a problem. It's just been a problem locating one without putting out a good down payment on a new one, but the one I have works. I like to have piece of mind that if I'm headed out on Michigan I'm not going to leave parts of it at the bottom of the lake. I'll try your suggestion and watch ebay or craigs list.
Thanks again for the response,
Bruce |
